Jeremy and I spent our Sunday at Danielle's cob house, building a mini-staircase out of urbanite so that she could more conveniently reach the cantilevered wood steps up to her outdoor porch and second floor. For a week now, she had been using an overturned bucket as a first step. These stairs are not only a better, sturdier solution, but were a great project through which to use up a lot of the big pieces of urbanite that Danielle had gotten a long time ago, but was never able to use for her foundation.
The steps turned out to be surprising pleasing to the eye, even the back side:
