Rough plans

Here are some quick jpegs of plans thus far.

Phase 1 (which is the part that I have the permit for):

 

Thinking about the foundation, as layers of gravel (dark gray), poured concrete (light gray), and aesthetically-pleasing brick (red).

 

A basic idea of what the final house might look like. As is obvious, I haven't quite flushed out the details of the roof (or any details, really):
